I Scream, ICE CREAM!

Merry Moo’s Pockrocks & Mallows (left) and Candied Bacon (right)

Hey guys! So, ever since I was a little kid, I have been a huuuuuuge fan of ice cream. From your lowly street dirty ice cream to the fancy creamy delicious gelato found in your local gelateria. Ice cream is a huge part of my childhood, and when you live in a hot place like the Philippines, ice cream a year-round treat. So, whenever a new ice cream parlour or stall pops up, I can’t resist to not give in to my inner cravings and have a taste of what’s to offer.

A few months ago, I discovered this little ice cream kiosk on the lower ground floor of SM Aura called, Merry Moo. I remember the very first flavour of theirs that I’ve tried was Avocado. It’s one of my favourite fruits and I don’t usually see it in ice cream form, so I decided to go for that one. The moment that cold treat touched my tongue, I knew that Merry Moo is my favourite Ice Cream brand so far. They sell you deliciously amazing, creamy delights that make you feel happier with just one lick. So, a few days ago, The Food Trip Buddies (aka China & I) went to SM Aura and got these delicious scoops of Merry Moo goodness. China got Candied Bacon and I decided to go with Poprocks & Mallows.

Poprocks & Mallows (and some of their other flavours)

Candied Bacon (and more of their flavours)

We did not get disappointed with our flavour choices. The Candied Bacon had real candied bacon chunks, which is always a plus. I mean come on, who doesn’t love BACON (aside from vegans and/or vegetarians. sorry guys). Bacon + Ice Cream, now that’s a hit. The Poprocks & Mallows was interesting, it was my first time eating that flavour so it was a delight. Chunks of chocolate covered poprocks were mixed in the delicious roasted marshmallow flavoured ice cream. Needless to say, I was very happy with my decision.

Next up in my ice cream craze are milkshakes served up in one of the country’s first milkshake bars, The Happy Barn Milkshake Factory. They serve up delicious, thick, creamy, low fat milkshakes made from sugar free ice cream! Drinking their milkshakes don’t make me feel as guilty about it as I usually would. YAY! I’ve tried their Matcha Milkshake before, and it was delicious! So, the next time I went with my friend Caye, I ordered up the classic Vanilla Milkshake topped with Caramel Sauce and Caye ordered Caramel Pop Milkshake which had caramel sauce & popcorn in it. Mine was delicious and did not disappoint, although the Caramel Pop could’ve been better. The consistency was off and the texture of the popcorn was weird, but it still tasted pretty okay. Nevertheless, I will still come back for more milkshake goodness!

So to end this, I rate Merry Moo a 9/10 because I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT, and The Happy Barn an 8/10. I recommend to go to these places if you want to get your ice cream fix! It’s definitely worth it.
